"Lake Tabok" is a 2-hectare lagoon located in Barangay Tabok, Mandaue City. The place become a water basin due to the development of a subdivison nearby. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources has already issued a Cease and Desist Order against the developer of the subdivision after many violations by the latter have been cited. But still the water is not subsiding and the fishing is going on...

This is a MTV of the infamous proposed national broadband project supposedly undertaken by the Philippine government with a China firm-- ZTE Corporation.

President Gloria Arroyo cancelled the project amidst allegations of kickbacks. It resulted to the resignation of Election body chairman Benjamin Abalos who allegedly brokered the deal and offering money to at least a top government official.
